Director of Finance - Shared Service

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Global India Finance Team will have primary oversight to the shared service functions of GL reconciliation and AP payments. This role is responsible for maintaining a system of accounting records and a set of controls designed to mitigate risk; the accuracy of transactions being processed; and the timeliness of payments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Directs and oversees the daily accounting operations of GL reconciliations AP payments and ensuring these activities are being managed effectively and efficiently
  • Drive in the design and implementation of process improvements, including standardization, enhancements and potential automation of existing processes and systems. Promotes best practices over financial and non-financial information across the accounting organization
  • Leads, mentors, and ensures engagement of direct reports and their respective teams and works to establish short-and long-range goals and objectives for both the function and the employees
  • Collaborate with business owners to ensure policies and procedures are effectively communicated and followed.
  • Delivers and reports on KPI metrics for GL reconciliations and AP payments functions that will identify opportunities and enhance visibility for business strategies
  • Assists in the preparation of the GL and AP close process and related reporting deliverables, including reviewing all reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of the financials
  • Manages or assists as necessary the master data elements for vendors, payment terms, and banking information
  • Manage compliance and corporate governance

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in senior leadership shared services accounting roles
  • 3+ years of public accounting audit experience (preferably Big 4 firm)
  • Minimum of BS in Accounting or equivalent experience
  • Strong executive presence in successfully managing c-level relationships and working cross functionally with a willingness to challenge the status quo, balance partner engagement with the natural tension that comes from compliance/public company requirements
  • Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate having a client focus, a strong business acumen, ability to instill a results-driven/solutions-oriented culture, and forward-leaning thought leadership that successfully devises strategies to navigate and address challenges and future needs
  • Extensive experience with international consolidation and foreign currency transactions is required
  • Strong track record of management capabilities including the hiring, retention and engagement of employees and teams
  • Ability to identify and assess risks with a history of implementing appropriate, effective, and cost-effective mitigation strategies to reduce business exposure to an acceptable level
  • Knowledge of SOX and implementation experience is preferred
