Last week, our company, Velocity Global, was recognized as the fourth Fastest-Growing Private Company in the U.S. by Inc. Magazine. In what has flown by like the blink of an eye (but in reality, took four years), we managed to reach nearly 40,000% growth and revenues north of $50 million. It makes my heart race just reading those words. While I can honestly tell you I had big plans for this company, I’d be lying if said I thought we would be so successful—in such a short period of time.
I share this not to boast; rather, my words come from a place of immense pride, gratitude, and accomplishment.
To our team:
I cannot even begin to describe how PROUD I am of our incredible team of professionals. Never in my career have I worked with a group of people who care so deeply about our clients and each other; who take their work very seriously, but won’t let seriousness stand in the way of a thriving company culture; and who are driven to use this incredible opportunity to vault their careers to new heights. To each of my Velocity Global colleagues: please know that you are the reason I vault out of bed each morning, eager to place the next tile in our ever-evolving mosaic.

I am deeply honored that you trust us with your business and equally overjoyed when you bring your most complex international business challenges to us for collaboration and problem-solving. Doing business across borders can be difficult to say the least. But when we work together, there isn’t a problem we cannot solve. You stuck by us when last year we tragically lost one of our colleagues: graciously forgiving us for missing some deadlines, not responding with our normal velocity, and extending your own much-needed support and condolences in the form of flowers, lunches, and cards that still bring a tear to my eye. Our whole reason for existing is to serve you and help you achieve your goals. To every single client that has blessed us with the opportunity to serve, I just want to say thank you.

Finally, I must recognize the others that have played such an important role in our growth and ACCOMPLISHMENT. I could never have steered this ship without our Advisory Board and the unending sage wisdom they individually impart. Each of your professional successes are enviable; but even more rare is your willingness to draw upon your experience to help us see around the next corner. It has played a major part in our sensational growth, and can be felt by every person that works at Velocity Global. We also owe a debt of gratitude to each of our partners and vendors that offer their very best thinking and resources to help make Velocity Global run like a well-oiled machine.
I want you all to know that this is just the beginning. Today, we are blessed to sit near the top of the 5,000 fastest-growing companies in the U.S. and we are in good company with other businesses that deserve the praise and notoriety, since entrepreneurship and growth is no easy task. But realistically our story— the Velocity Global story— is only a few chapters in. We have our sights set on great heights and this is only the first milestone of many. As my friend and colleague Rob Wellner is known to say, “when you see a rocket ship… get on!” Well, buckle up my friends, because the best is yet to come!
