Summary/Overview:
The Director of Email Strategy and Marketing is a critical leadership role responsible for shaping and scaling Velocity Global's email marketing strategy across the full prospect journey. You will lead email marketing efforts—driving engagement, nurturing leads, accelerating pipeline, and increasing growth. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, deep channel expertise, data fluency, and operational excellence. You will build a modern email marketing function powered by segmentation, personalization, automation, and performance insights.
You Will:
- Strategy and Planning
- Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for email marketing across the buyer and customer journey.
- Partner with digital, demand generation, product marketing, sales, and customer teams to deliver targeted, high-performing email programs aligned to growth goals.
- Lifecycle and Nurture Programs
- Own development and execution of lifecycle and nurture programs for prospects and leads
- Align and optimize awareness, engagement, product education, consideration and conversion-focused email sequences.
- Personalization and Segmentation
- Implement robust segmentation strategies to deliver relevant messaging at the right time to the right audience.
- Leverage behavioral, demographic, and firmographic data for personalization and dynamic content.
- Performance and Optimization
- Define KPIs, monitor performance, and run A/B tests to improve open rates, click-throughs, conversions, and pipeline/revenue impact.
- Partner with analytics to develop dashboards and track campaign ROI and contribution to pipeline.
- Technology and Automation
- Have expert working knowledge of marketing automation platforms i.e. Marketo—to accelerate strategic planning
- Work with Marketing Operations to implement new tools and workflows to increase efficiency and scale automation.
- Compliance and Best Practices
- Ensure all email programs are GDPR- and CAN-SPAM-compliant.
- Champion email and deliverability best practices across the organization.
- Team Leadership
- Eventually grow a high-performing team of email and lifecycle marketers.
You Have:
- 10+ years of experience in email marketing, lifecycle marketing, or CRM roles in B2B SaaS or tech environments.
- Deep knowledge of email marketing best practices, analytics, and automation tools.
- Hands-on experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo, HubSpot, Pardot).
- Proven ability to drive engagement, pipeline, and revenue through strategic email programs.
- Analytical mindset with experience optimizing performance through experimentation.
- Collaborative, proactive, and passionate about customer experience.
